Though my house is an old farmhouse and it is on a corner, we don’t live on a farm. We are in the middle of a small west Texas town where I am a college administrator and a student. We have been married almost 30 years, and our daughter, who is a teacher, has been married a year and a half. Our son, whose wife is a teacher, just got married this summer and is going to graduate school. My husband is a teacher, too, so our family values education and summertime, two things that blend together for the perfect opportunity to renovate and remake our home one summer at a time.
